About the event
The Lower Laguna Madre Young Birders Club aims to connect youth with nature through birding with a goal to build an environmentally conscious future while having lots of fun!
This club session will focus on the waterfowl of the Laguna Madre area. The Laguna Madre is a perfect place for waterfowl, especially during the winter months when thousands of ducks, geese, coots, grebes, and loons escape the frozen north for the warmer climates of southern latitudes. The Laguna Madre should be filled with wintering waterfowl during this session. Participants will learn all about the waterfowl species that utilize the Laguna Madre and their particular natural histories.
Program will start with a 30-minute presentation followed by a 2-hour tour of our boardwalk and gardens.
We invite youth (9-15 years of age) to be part of the club and enjoy a morning of birding with us!
If you are already an official club member, please email Naturalist Javier Gonzalez at naturalist@spibirding.com, to be added to the registration roster. Thank you.
